The Anti-Immigration Fraud Unit of Panchkula Police has exposed a major cheating racket operating under the pretext of arranging overseas work visas. Two key accused, identified as Shailendra Kumar and his associate Neeraj, have been arrested for allegedly duping a man of ₹15 lakh by promising a New Zealand work visa. Police have also recovered ₹5 lakh in cash from their possession.

According to the investigation, Shailendra Kumar was running an immigration-related firm without any valid license and luring people with false assurances of overseas employment and work visas. Using these promises, the accused collected large sums of money from victims but failed to deliver on their commitments.

Following a complaint, the Anti-Immigration Fraud Unit initiated a detailed probe and tracked down the suspects. During the course of the investigation, police also conducted raids in West Bengal, leading to the arrest of another accused, Saddam Hussain Ansari, who is believed to be linked to the same network.

Police officials suspect that more individuals may be involved in the racket and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend other members of the gang. Documents and financial transactions connected to the case are also being examined to trace the full extent of the fraud.

DCP Srishti Gupta said the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are likely in the coming days. She urged the public to remain cautious and avoid dealing with unauthorized agents or fake firms offering overseas travel or visa services. She also appealed to citizens to immediately inform the police if they suspect any fraudulent activity related to immigration or foreign job placements.
