Singapore Job Scam in Haryana: Youth Cheated of ₹8 Lakh by Local Agent, FIR Registered
Singapore Job Scam, A youth from Chudiyala village in Haryana has alleged that he was cheated of ₹8 lakh on the false promise of a job in Singapore. Acting on the complaint, Saha police have registered a Police Case and initiated an investigation against the accused, identified as Himanshu Bhardwaj, a resident of the same village. According to the police team’s complaint filed by Mahesh Kumar, the accused Himanshu approached him with claims of arranging a well-paying job in Singapore. Trusting the assurance, Mahesh agreed to the proposal and began making payments as demanded by the accused agent.
Mahesh stated that between November 6 to December 9, 2025, he paid a total of ₹8 lakh to the accused. Of this amount, ₹6 lakh was transferred through a Punjab National Bank (PNB) account, while the remaining ₹2 lakh was paid in cash. The accused reportedly assured him that all formalities were being completed and that his departure would take place soon.
However, when the time came to send him to Singapore, the accused allegedly switched off his mobile phone and became unreachable. Realizing that he had been duped, Mahesh approached the police and submitted a written complaint detailing the alleged fraud.
Based on the complaint, Saha police registered an FIR under relevant sections of cheating and criminal breach of trust. The police investigation team has confirmed that an investigation is underway, and bank transaction records are being examined to trace the money trail. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
This incident once again underscores the rising number of Singapore job scams and overseas employment fraud cases in Haryana and nearby regions, where unsuspecting youths are lured with false promises of foreign jobs. Police have advised job seekers to verify the credentials of immigration agents, avoid cash transactions, and deal only with licensed consultants.
