Qatar Visa Fraud, Kanpur Man Alleges Qatar Job Fraud by Travel Agency
Qatar Visa Fraud, A case of alleged Qatar job fraud has surfaced in Kanpur after an AC technician accused a travel agency operator of cheating him on the pretext of overseas employment. The complainant, Shamim Ahmed, a resident of Rawatpur in Kanpur Nagar, has lodged a complaint with Chinhat Police Station against a local immigration consultant. Immigration Frauds
According to Shamim, he was promised a job in Qatar by Pappu Khan, the owner of Rack Line Consultant Travel Agency, located in Chinhat. The accused allegedly collected ₹40,000 from Shamim in the name of Qatar visa processing and flight ticket booking, assuring him confirmed travel and employment.
Ticket Cancelled at Delhi Airport, Victim Left Stranded
Shamim alleged that after completing all formalities, he was sent to IGI Delhi Airport for departure to Qatar. However, upon reaching the airport, he was shocked to see that his ticket had been cancelled without his knowledge. He claimed that the cancellation was done deliberately after receiving the payment.
Despite repeated calls and messages, Shamim alleged that the travel agent failed to provide any clarification or refund. Realizing that he had been cheated, Shamim approached the Chinhat Police Station and submitted his complaint seeking legal action against the agent.
Chinhat Police Begin Probe into Qatar Visa Scam Allegation
Confirming the development, Inspector Dinesh Chandra Mishra, SHO of Chinhat Police Station, stated that the complaint has been received and the investigation is currently underway.
“We are verifying the allegations and examining the role of the travel agency operator. Further action will be taken based on the investigation findings,” the inspector said.
Rising Overseas Job Scams in Uttar Pradesh
Cases related to fake overseas job offers, Qatar visa fraud, and immigration consultant scams have been increasing across Uttar Pradesh. Experts warn that skilled workers and technicians are often targeted due to their strong desire to secure foreign employment.
Police have advised job seekers to verify the registration, license, and past records of travel agents and immigration consultants before making any payments, especially for jobs in Gulf countries like Qatar.
The investigation in this case is ongoing, and further legal action will depend on the evidence collected by the police.
