Immigration Fraud Wife Arrested, Man AT Large.

News Source:- Noose has tightened around a famous Instagram couple, with 1,80,000 followers, involved in an immigration fraud. While the police arrested the 27-year-old woman accused on Wednesday, her husband is on the run for the past few months. 


Ekam Singh and Baljinder Kaur, popularly known as ‘Mr and Mrs Sandhu’ on the social media site, are owners of International Education in Phase V and Proper Consultants in Sector 
70. Though on the run, Ekam is active on social media. 


ASI Harvinder Singh, in charge of the case, said, “The accused was caught from Mataur on Wednesday evening on a tip-off. On Thursday, she was produced in the court, which sent her in one-day police remand.” 
Ekam was arrested in January this year, but he jumped bail. According to the police, the couple was running the business since 2014 and used to dupe people on the pretext of sending them abroad. Five cases were registered against them in 2018 and 2019. In January, the couple was booked for a fraud of Rs 16.7 lakh, which were taken for sending a girl abroad. 


Duped Moga man of Rs 4.65 lakh
One of the cases was registered against their firm in December 2018 on the complaint of Tek Singh, a resident of Moga from whom they had taken Rs 4.65 lakh for sending his daughter to Canada. Another case was registered on the complaint of Surinder Kaur of Nawanshahr, from whom the accused had taken Rs 2.85 lakh for sending her family abroad. 


When called in the court, Baljinder paid Rs 2.85 lakh to Surinder, but Tek Singh was not present there.
