Chandigarh Police Arrested Two People In Immigration Frauds, 27 Passports Recovered

Home:– Chandigarh Police arrested two persons identified as Tajinder Singh age 31 of Mohali and Major Singh Kulkarni age 41 of Amritsar, ran a company named Universal Travels in Sector 47, Chandigarh involved in an immigration fraud.

The accused in immigration frauds sent to a two days police remand; 27 passports recovered, seven of which belongs to the complainants.

The complainants named Bhupinder Singh, Amar Singh, Mehar Singh, Baljit Singh, Narinder Kumar, Manish Kumar, Nirmal Singh, Mewa Singh, Harbhej Singh and others claimed that Universal Travel, operating from Sector 47,Chandigarh had taken ₹85,000 INR from each of them (total approx. ₹5,95,000) along with their passports for providing a work visa for Tanzania, but neither they provided them the visa nor their returned their money. Later on accused shut down their business and ran away.

Chandigarh Police registered a case under Sections 406 , 420, 120B IPC and  24 Immigration Act at PS Sector 31, Chandigarh after receiving multiple complaints against the accused at SSP Office.

The Police has recovered 27 passports, seven of which belonged to the complainants, three receipt books of Universal Travel, one mobile phone, one office laptop and six different bank chequebooks.
