Canada Work Visa, Man Cheated For Rs 4.34 Lakh

Canada Work Visa Fraud:-Navrangpura resident, A 25 year old; who wanted a job visa in foreign country fell in the hands of cyber crooks and lost Rs 4.34 lakh. Later an police case was registered at the local city’s cybercrime cell. Immigration Frauds

Mahesh Aswani a resident of Navrangpura (runs a cloth business), came across an online advertisement in August about job visa for Canada, UK and US.

When he called on the given number, the person at the other end claimed he would arrange him the job visa for Canada, He also shared his business card on WhatsApp. The name on the business card was mentioned ‘CK Patel of Star Immigration’ based in Surat.

Aswani was asked to show bank balance of 15-16 lakh and share his documents to get him visa. Ashwani did not have that much balance, the immigration consultant claimed he would manage the balance and asked him to open a new bank account. As per agent’s advice Aswani opened a new account and transferred his savings of Rs 4.4 lakh in the new bank account. The visa agent added his name as beneficiary and also collected the other details of the account like cheque book, ATM card etc.

Later his visa agent neither get him visa nor returned him money. On doubt and being warned by an acquaintance, Aswani closed his bank account, but by this time he closed his bank account the Rs 4.34 lakh had been already debited.
