According to the complaint filed by Inderjit Singh, a resident of Paonta Sahib, the accused lured him with assurances of a lucrative overseas opportunity. Tarun allegedly took ₹1.55 lakh as an advance payment, promising to complete the process of sending him abroad. However, neither was the promise fulfilled nor was the money returned.

During the investigation, police revealed that on August 30, 2024, the accused called the complainant to his office, verified his documents, and finalized a deal worth ₹3 lakh for sending him abroad. Authorities suspect that this could be part of a larger fake visa and overseas job racket, targeting innocent aspirants eager to settle abroad.

The police have appealed to the public to remain cautious of fraudulent travel agents, avoid making payments without proper receipts, and verify credentials before handing over documents such as passports. Further investigation in the case is ongoing.
