Two Booked For Visa Fraud In Ghatlodia
News Source:- Two persons were booked by the Ghatlodia police for allegedly duping a farmer from Kalol of Rs 5.42 lakh on the pretext of arranging a Canadian work visa for his son and daughter-in-law. In another case, a youth was cheated of Rs 16.8 lakh over a UK student visa and also given a fake air ticket.
Kalol resident Dinesh Prajapati (55) wanted to send his son and daughter-in-law to Canada and had asked his relative Shailesh Prajapati for an agent. Shailesh took Prajapati to one Mitesh Shah, who runs a firm called BK Overseas with an office in Angel Arcade in Ghatlodia.
Shah told Prajapati he would charge 10% of the overall visa expenses. Prajapati paid him Rs 5.42 lakh in installments. Prajapati did not get proper answers when the work visas were getting delayed. Even his relative Shailesh stopped receiving his calls.
Later, Prajapati came in touch with a youth, Chintan, who was also charged Rs 16.5 lakh by Shah on the pretext of a student visa to UK.
