Mohali Man Kuldeep Singh Gill Arrested for Running Fake Immigration Firm ; Victim Loses Nearly ₹55 Lakh
Police have arrested a Kharar resident for allegedly operating a fraudulent immigration consultancy that cheated multiple people on the pretext of sending them abroad for work and permanent residency. The arrest follows a detailed complaint from a Mohali resident who claimed he was duped of ₹54.98 lakh.
According to officials, the accused, Kuldeep Singh Gill, ran the firm Quicknox Solutions from an office located in Sector 78, Mohali. Investigators say the company projected itself as an authorised overseas immigration and settlement service, promising jobs and visas for countries such as Canada and Europe.
Victim Paid Over ₹50 Lakh for Promised Foreign Opportunity
The complainant told police that Gill and his associates assured him of a secure placement abroad and demanded substantial advance payments for “processing, documentation, and work permit approval.” After receiving multiple transactions from the victim, the firm allegedly stopped responding and failed to deliver any genuine visa paperwork.
When repeated attempts to contact the firm failed, the victim approached Sohana Police Station, triggering a formal investigation.
Accused Arrested; Associates Still At Large
Police said Gill was taken into custody during a targeted operation earlier this week. However, three other individuals linked to the firm identified as Jaspal Singh (alias Chil), Navjot Singh, and Mehrjot Singh are currently absconding.
Authorities noted that the accused had been operating without any valid immigration licence and used fabricated assurances to lure clients.
Case Registered Under Fraud and Immigration Violations
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for cheating and criminal breach of trust, along with provisions of the Immigration Act. Police have also seized documents, digital equipment and promotional material used by the firm.
Police Urge Public to Verify Immigration Credentials
Officials have urged residents of Mohali and surrounding areas to verify the credentials of any immigration consultancy before making payments, noting that such frauds have been rising steadily in the region.
The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused and trace additional victims who may have been defrauded by the same firm.
