The complainant, Amandeep Singh, a resident of Baba Buddha Enclave, Tarn Taran, Punjab, stated in his complaint that in June 2024, he was introduced to the accused through his cousin Ranjit Singh. Through this connection, Jasman Singh Bedi, Sukhvir Bedi of Bedi Mohalla, and Aman Chadha of Madhavpur in Bahedi tehsil, Bareilly district, allegedly promised to arrange his travel and settlement in Australia.
₹15.5 Lakh Taken for Australia Visa and Travel
According to the complaint, the accused demanded a total of ₹15.50 lakh for Australia visa processing, documentation, and travel arrangements. Trusting their assurances, Amandeep Singh paid the full amount. The accused later handed over travel-related documents and instructed him to proceed to the airport.
However, Amandeep’s journey came to an abrupt halt when airport authorities declared the documents fake and denied him permission to travel. He was sent back after officials flagged serious discrepancies in the paperwork.
Accused Refuse Refund, Issue Threats
When Amandeep confronted the accused and demanded a refund after learning about the fake documents, they allegedly refused to return the money, misbehaved with him, and used abusive language. The victim further alleged that the accused threatened him with dire consequences, warning that he would be killed if he demanded the money again or approached the police.
Fearing for his safety and having lost a significant amount, Amandeep Singh approached the Kotwali police station, where an FIR was registered on his written complaint.
Police Investigation Underway
Confirming the development, Kotwal Prakash Singh Danu stated that the case has been registered and a detailed investigation is underway. “All allegations are being examined, and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the evidence,” he said.
