Do You Want to Study Abroad ? Beware Of These Scams While Applying !
Studying abroad is a big decision in most of the students’ lives. For most Indian families, this is by far the biggest investment they make. This is a big decision and can change anyone’s life in a positive as well as negative way. Immigration Frauds
In maximum scenarios, Most of the students are the first one in their family to study abroad, and the family and decision makers are not well aware of the process and the steps involved. Parents wanting the best for their children usually fall prey to many scams (not all are scams, most are unethical practices). I am listing a few points the students and parents should aware of.
Understanding The Process ?
The application process in developed countries like Canada, The USA, The UK, Australia etc is very different from India. In India, we are used to focusing on a single test score or a single entrance exam, which can make or break our dream, whereas in these countries we see that there is a holistic approach being taken and not focused on just a single entrance exam like India.
The application process involves a lot more like it will take into consideration your academic performance over the past few years, your extracurricular, your projects, your achievements, your recommendations etc.
Many applicants believe that if you pay enough, you can receive the score you desire. The majority of these are phishing schemes aimed at inexperienced pupils.
Technology is improving day by day, making it easier to identify applicants who have been cheating. If it is discovered that you obtained these grades by unethical means, the institution may refuse your application as well as can ban your application for lifetime too.
Even If the college/university discovers it after you have been admitted, begun your course, or completed your course, it has the authority to withdraw your admission and deport you to your home country.
So, follow the right way to clear these test. These are skill based tests which might require some effort and practice to get good grades. You take time and practice but do not resort to unfair means.
Choosing Visa Agents Or Visa Counsellors ?
One of the best ways to check if your best interests are at the heart would be to see if your visa agent or visa counsellor is letting you apply to the college/universities, which are not partnered with them. That would be a true test.
Financial Documents ?
Studying abroad is not exactly a cheap affair. It can cost good money. In many cases, parents do not have enough funds to show their college/University or their visa officer and the agents can direct them to look at unfair means. This is not just unfair but most times illegal too.
If you are caught (which many times do happen) you may be banned permanently from applying for a visa to that country.
These documents are asked as a part of the documents checklist to ensure you are able to complete your education.
In case of lack of funds, Lack of funds can be an issue with many students but there are many education loan providers can fulfil your need, Even the local government itself is helping capable student to provide them education loan.
Most of the bank/loan providers/vendors look at your ability to payback post your education which itself can be a great check for you.
Visa Scams ?
Studying abroad many times, students are promised a guaranteed visa by the visa agents, which I can say is not possible. No visa agent can exercise any influence over your visas. Guidance can be there to ensure that you put your best but giving visa assurance is absolutely not possible. Many people have lost money believing in these agents and many will do so in future also. Until unless you are awake and treat your self educated and updated with knowledge these visa agents will keep on making you fool. Immigration Frauds FB
