Immigration Canada’s processing backlogs now stands at more than 2 million people across all lines of business
Immigration Canada, The temporary and permanent residence including study permits, Permanent residents etc., Their backlog has increased. Meanwhile, the citizenship application’s backlog went down to approximately 4,00,000 persons in April, As compared to more than 4,53,000 in the March.
The backlog has progressed as follows from last few months,
April 11-12, 2022: 2,031,589 persons
March 15 and 17, 2022: 1,844,424 persons
February 1, 2022: 1,815,628 persons
December 15, 2021: 1,813,144persons
October 27, 2021: 1,792,404 persons
July 6, 2021: 1,447,474 persons
Most of the gains between March, 2022 and Apri, 2022 were seen in the temporary visa inventory. As of April 11, 2022, there are more than 1.1 million temporary residence applicants are awaited their results, such as people applying for work permits and study permits are waiting on the processing of their applications. On March 17, 2022, there were around 870,000 people. According to an IRCC , the inventory for temporary resident permits and work permits has increased.
