Work Visa Fraud: ₹12 Lakh Australia Job Fraud Exposed, FIR Registered Against Five Accused
Work Visa Fraud In Bihar, A major overseas job fraud case has surfaced from the Chhapar police station area, where several youths were allegedly cheated of nearly ₹12 lakh on the false promise of being sent abroad for employment. After verifying complaints from the victims, the police team has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against five accused and initiated a detailed investigation. Immigration Frauds
According to police sources, the complainant, Vikram Saini, a resident of Saran village, stated that he and another youth from the village, Pankaj, were looking for overseas employment opportunities. During this period, they came in contact with Karandeep, Satbir Singh, Amandeep, and Divya, who claimed to be involved in sending people abroad for work visas.
The accused allegedly assured the victims that they would arrange Australia work visas and secure jobs for them. Trusting their claims, Vikram and Pankaj handed over a total of ₹9.72 lakh in cash along with essential documents like Passport, Id proofs, etc., between June 18, 2024, and June 30, 2024.
However, despite repeated follow-ups, no visa process was initiated, nor were any official documents provided. As weeks turned into months, the accused reportedly began avoiding the victims and failed to give any satisfactory response. When the victims demanded to return their money, the accused allegedly flatly refused, raising serious suspicions of fraud.
Realizing they had been cheated, the victims approached police officials, where a preliminary inquiry was conducted. After finding the allegations credible, the police registered a FIR under relevant sections related to cheating and fraud against five accused.
Police officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to trace the money trail and verify whether more victims were duped using similar promises. Authorities have once again urged job seekers to verify the credentials of overseas recruitment agents and avoid making large payments without proper legal documentation.
This case highlights the growing number of overseas job scams in Bihar, where innocent youths are targeted with false promises of foreign employment, resulting in significant financial and emotional distress for their families.
