Punjab Lawyer Held for Submitting Fake Documents for U.S. Visa

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested a 32-year-old lawyer from Punjab for allegedly presenting fabricated experience and salary certificates to obtain a U.S. visa.

According to police, the accused, identified as Kuldeep Kumar, had applied for a B1/B2 visa at the U.S. Consulate in Chennai. During the verification process, officials found discrepancies in the supporting documents he submitted, which were later confirmed to be forged.

Following an internal inquiry, Scott K. Schonauer, Regional Security Officer at the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai, filed a formal complaint with the police. Acting on the complaint, the CCB conducted an investigation and took the accused into custody.
