Immigration Agent Duped Women For Sending Abroad.
Two separate women were allegedly duped of Rs 10 lakh in two different incidents of visa fraud. In both the incidents, the accused had promised the victims to send them abroad on work permits to Canada and the UK. Neither they send them abroad nor they returned their money. Immigration Frauds
The matter came to light when the victims approached the local police to file complaints against the accused, based on that the cheating case has been registered.
2 Women Duped On Pretext Of Canada/UK Work Visa, Case Registered
The victim, Mona Devi, a resident of Sector 32, Chandigarh alleged that the accused identified as Sarwan Singh of Gurdaspur and Kamlesh Rani of Ludhiana had promised to provide her and her son with Canada work permit and they took a total Rs 6.50 lakh from them for the same.
After taking money, the both the accused started delaying their visa process. Later she demanded her money back but the accused neither returned her money nor provided the work visa, following which she realised that she had been duped and she loaded the complaint at sector 34, Chandigarh police station.
Similarly, another woman, Sonu Dua from Ambala, alleged that she duped of Rs 3.5 lakh on the pretext of UK work permit. The accused is identified as Taranjeet Singh Vohra, who allegedly took the money from the victim but did not provide her with UK visa, following which the victim filed a complaint at Sector 17 police station, Chandigarh.
Local police advised that everyone to verify about the agent and their background before applying or taking their services.
